During WP1 SFERA consortium carried out a benchmarking analysis regarding the ICTs in the European Regions and in particular the Regions involved in these activities.

The individuation of suitable indicators allowed the set up of common references for the analysis of the Regions situation.

The benchmarking activities gave an outline of a set of different scenarios for the implementations of new policies about using structural funds in European Regions for research, development and innovation in the benefit of the underserved/underdeveloped Regions.

The benchmarking analysis was devoted to study economic, technologic and regulatory aspects related to the ICTs infrastructure of the Regions.
